The crepe sole trend!
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009This seasons’ new talk about must be the crepe sole!
It has increased in height and is more visible with its beige color! You see it on the lace-ups, wedges, ankle boots, knee highs and desert low boots! Every day people enter the store asking for these, some customers are curious and try them on, walk around and then leave the store without buying. Others are more brave, they have seen them in several fashion magazines and blogs and ask for them right away, try them on quickly, pay and leave the store as a brave trend follower!
B4You, Fiorucci, Rdm, Fornarina, Igualados and Wonders are some of the brands who have been inspired to use the crepe sole in their collections!
The footwear consisting of this sole is not only fashionable they are also more water resistent in the cases when the sole is a bit heigher. They will be perfect to wear now when you want to keep your feet dry from the rain and snow.
We remind you that our shoe-buyers, Sofie and Guendalina are moving to Madrid, where takes place the shoe-fair Modacalzado from the 24th to the 26th of September. They will update us with pictures, impressions and curiosities about the news of the new Spring/ Summer collection 2010. Stay tuned!
The Patchwork trend
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009The patchwork trend started way back in the history, I remember my grandma sitting doing those large bedspreads in the most beautiful colors and patterns! This season its back and you can see it everywhere!
Whats new is to combine not only different colors but also different materials. In the shop we can see great combinations with suede and leather. The most dominating colors are the ones from the nature, wood, orange, dark-green you name it!
The patchwork can be seen on the knee-high boots, the low boots, the pumps, the lace-ups so what ever you like you can become a part of this big trend!
Also the accessories have been influenced by this. The adorable Replay bags are having a metallic patchwork pattern which gives it the possibility to combine with many different colors! These bags from Replay come in various sizes, both shoulderbags and handbags. One brand which was new for me when I came to Romano was Momaboma, they have the most unique bags I have ever seen! Also their design can be called patchwork, they use original italian comics and newpapers from the 60′s!
