Previews from the fair Modacalzado

Friday, March 12th, 2010

We are in Madrid to attend at the fashion fair Modacalzado. During the trip we found a lot of snow, but fortunately here the weather is great! The shoe fair, located in Campo de las Naciones, is this year a bit smaller than the last editions, but due to this fact we had the time to visit all the stands to choose at best the upcoming winter collection 2010-2011.

Today we concentrated our attention to 2 particular brands that we work with since several years: Gino Vaello and Rizzo.

The first proposes us a colorfull and elegant collection: high heel, pumps, ankle boots bi-colored with jewel accesories. Everything in suede , combining many colors toghether. As we saw at Micam in Milan the new trend is definitely the pointed toe, even if not too long!

The Rizzo collection is, as always, created for a young and trendy style: comfortable heels, rounded and amazing shapes. The new entrance is a wedge “heel effect”, 10 cm high!

Tomorrow we are going to see other brands, we ‘re as curious as you are!

If you come in Madrid we recommend you: one tapas- stop at Dehesa Santa Maria, in front of the Royal Palace, and a dinner at Ginos, a small Italian restaurant really nice!

High heels or no heels!

The fashion trends for this summer are certainly enough to make everyone happy! It seems that all kind of styles are “in”. If we say ethnic, bohemic, grecian, fringes, butterflies, romantic styles, graphic patterns, the 80′s look- all you think yes, yes yes and yes…these are all very fashionable styles this summer. And what about colours? It might be easier to mention one colour that isn’t fashionable this summer…

Also for the shoe section you can find many different styles and colours.

But what about the heels? Have you noticed that this summer you either go high heels or no heels? Anyway here in Florence,Italy, you can see this contrast very clearly.

Large heels, cone shaped heels, stiletto heels, wedges they are all high. Fortunatly the platform is a big thing this summer so even if the heels are high at least they are more comfortable.

Ballerinas, gladiator sandals, toe thong sandals in different styles but all very flat. This summer you can find very elegant flats with accessories like fringes, jewelery, patent leather etc. that gives them more importance so one could also wear them for dressed-up occasions.

And what about you, do you go high or low?
