It’s August and like every year the streets inFlorence turns into a desert. Only a couple of “poor fellows” like us are still in the empty city, but it’s not so bad! You can find some nice priviligies, like:

cinema, museums and exhibitions…finally you don’t have to do kilometre long queues

Saturday, June 27th, 2009It’s time for a break, the vacations have already started for someone, about to begin for others and for some poor people they are already finished. Where have you planned to go on your summer holidays? To the seaside, relaxing while you’re working on your sun tan, going with your love on a romantic boat trip or….it doesn’t matter.
For someone making the bag for a vacation is a “torture” and for others it’s a piece of cake, either ways these are the 5 must haves where ever you go!
- First of all you’ll need a big beach bag so there’s space for all the necessary you need.
- Secondly a trendy sun hat, the bigger the better.
- Thirdly one of the hottest clothing this season, the jumpsuit.
- Fourth on the list your summer bestfriend, the sunglasses.
- Fifth and the last, but maybe most important thing, the shoes. A pair of fashionable flat sandals that are comfortbale and are right for a day at the beach like for a night out.
The sale started early this season, so if you miss something for your vacation this is a perfect occasion!!!

Oh yes! Finally weekend and finally Saturday!
Saturday is famous internationally for being a day or night of celebration (p-a-r-t-y). The 3 most common alternatives for tonight here in Florence are Aperitivo, Dinner and then Dancing. When you have decided what you are doing tonight, the next question may come up, what Im I going to wear?!
We suggest; for an Aperitivo for the ladies a simple but elegant outfit, as a ballon-skirt and a matching top preferible with a detail as a bow. Since your clothing are pretty simple it’s always nice to use more accessories, like colourful bracelets and maybe a big pair of sunglasses if the weather allows. With the skirt a cute pair of peep-toe pumps.
For your date, boyfriend or friend the rules are the same elegant but in a relaxing way. Mix a pair of jeans with a formal jacket, then to give a sporty touch we suggest a sportive cap. Lace-up bi-coloured Italian shoes, let’s go classic but keep the modern look.
Order a fresh cocktail a enjoy your evening!
Some suggestions of good apertivo (after-work, apertive) places here in Florence are for ex. Noir (ex-Capocaccia), that you’ll find just by the river at Lungarno Corsini: they have the aperitivo with buffè until 22.00, and good music with DJ. Another one is Mama that you find in the San Frediano area is also a very nice local: they just re-opened last night actually (friday the 5th of June) and like always with an out-door aperitivo buffè and live music.
…after eating and drinking at the aperitive or dinner, the night is still young! Why don’t continue at a disco?! In Florence you can find several and in the summer you can go dancing out-doors at clubs like Central Park and Meccanò. You might want to change your outfit and now use all your creativity, but remember that you will dance so maybe making the shoe choice first is a good idea! Put on your highest heels you can find…the summer fashion is on your side this year with the platform trend. Because more than fashionable they are also comfortable and help you dance all night long without killing your poor feets! For the rest of the disco outfit it’s easy almost anything with palliettes, glitter, stars is fine or mini-skirts and colourful dresses. Maybe try to avoid white clothing even though it looks good with your sunburn..the disco lights sometimes make funny jokes.
Then order another drink and shake your *beep* all night long!

Finally the summer is here! It’s time to change the closet, out with warm jackets and boots to make space for colours, dresses and summer shoes. And what is more perfect than a pair of ballerinas while we are awaiting the real warmth?
This year they rule the world, soft, 
colourful, happy, comfortable and anti-slippery:
they are the plastic ballerinas. Made of a very soft rubber, with a practical suede inner sole, they are right for all ages and for all kind of occasions like: beach, pool or a walk in town. This rubber shoe trend has already been created and known by many designers, from flats to high heels. Some of the most famous ones are the brazilian brand Melissa and Marc Jacobs.

Fornarina opening Florence!
Saturday, April 11th, 2009Thursday night the Fornarina opening celebration took place outside the new Fornarina shop in Piazza Duomo here in Florence. Finally Florence have a Fornarina store!…although we were a bit disapointed both on the shop and the opening celebration. Since we have worked with the brand for several years, and have our idea of the brand as young and glamorous, we excepted something more, for ex. the shop is pretty small so it’s hard to see the product and the party wasn’t so glam. It’s a shame because the Spring/Summer collection is very successful, a cool mix between the 80′s and “Alice in Wonderland”.
