Florence from a different point of view
Monday, August 17th, 2009For 12 weeks the Romano team will have a new member and her name is Malin.
I am an intern from Sweden, studying Packaging Design and I will be here mainly as an assistent for Romano’s graphic designer Fabio. One of my responsibilities will be to write in this blog. I will share my impressions of Romano Firenze, give you updates about what is going on here in the office, down in the shop and on the streets of Florence!
Hopefully I will manage to give you some inspiration for the upcoming season, the lovely Fall! At least I can admit that it feels great to finally put on boots again. I will wear knee high boots with leggings and a reddish-brown suede poncho that I have found on the market on my way to the office.
I recently had lunch and ran around searching for my favorite poncho to show you, finally I found it, the seller had moved! The price is € 90 but I’m sure I will be able to negociate down the price. On my way back to the shop I decided to sit down in the shadow to have a look at the shoe fashion for today and no doubt about whats hot, comfy sandals, flipflops and sneakers! It might not be the most glamorous choices, but to be honest it makes me glad, people care about themselves feeling good! On the other hand Florence is now full of tourists who walk a lot and are dependent on their feet feeling comfortable!
Save our feet, wear comfortable shoes!
Shoe-search at Full Up in Florence
Saturday, May 9th, 2009
Thursday night at the club Full Up, Florence, Italy there were -Flash, smiles, good music and T-shirts for everyone that took part of the “il Nuovo Corriere di Firenze” party. The winner of the contest “la commessa ideale” = “the ideal shop assistant” was crowned, Laura La Guardia that work at the perfume department at Esselunga got over a 1000 of votes. She won a weekend to the Italian seaside, and all the others got a T-shirt designed for the occasion by the young florentine stylist Giulia Sella. Even though there weren’t so many participants we had a lots of fun, dancing and enjoying the company of the other shop assistants.
Always in search for beautiful shoes we found some really fancy high heels at the dance floor…..
…and the most trendy shoes were of course ours!
[streets without wall]
Friday, April 24th, 2009This morning on our way to work, to open the shoe shop in via degli Speziali, we found something “different” in Piazza della Repubblica. An artist, a certain Ivan, was covering the whole square with a gigantic plastic sheet….why?? We found the answer when we at lunch couldn’t keep our curiosity anymore. The square was full of people, tins of paint and paint brushes. “The World’s biggest page” wasn’t white anymore, but full of drawings and writings of all kind. Of course we had to be a part of it!
“Streets without wall” is an event of Street art – Urban art to support the Art Charity project ” Villaggio San Sebastiano“, and take place here in Florence from the 13th of April to the 3rd of May.
Anyone can contribute to the realization of this ambitious project donating an artwork.
