Berlin from Romano’s point of view!

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Here we are again! Our buyers  Guendalina and Sofie (visit her blog!) tell us some curiosities about the city of Berlin, where she has been for the fashion fair Bread&Butter:

” After some busy days at the fashion fair we took one afternoon to discover the huge city of Berlin! We didnt know where to go first, but a very kind girl gave us some adresses, so after taking the subway and then train we got to an area called Hackescher Markt, nearby Alexanderplatz. We had a map and after walking a bit among really cool shops and boutiques, we found the street that the girl had written down for us.
Our favourite shops were:

DOM
which you just cannot miss, because it looks like disco ball from the outside. In this shop you can find very original things as accessories and glasses but also decoration for your home! Very chic!
Tukado
is a super cute boutique, very colourful! It’s a bead paradise, they customize accessories like earings and necklaces. Its definetly worth to visit just to see their creations.
Second hand seem to be some big things in Berlin and we found a big one called Made in Berlin and they had two floors full of vintage clothing and shoes! One room full of shoes with memories from all kind of decades! If you have time you can really make a fine haul there!

Guess what else we saw every girls dream (I hope!) the Sex and the City shoe collection! A special shoe collection made for this shop for the fashion week in Berlin! I have to say that the shoes weren’t so pretty as you expected them…but just because they are SATC shoes they are still cool!

Since we arent that found of the German cousine we had an international dinner at a Sushi restaurant, yummie! “

News and curiosities about Pitti Uomo76

Pitti PeopleHere we are, as promised, to tell you all the news about Pitti Uomo 76, here in Florence. Yesterday we have been there, and apart that it was very hot, it has been a exciting day. A lot of people from everywhere have come to the fair so that  it was difficult  walking inside: a part of them very elegant, others more eccentric, women with 12 cm high heels (…just to stay comfortable during the day), and guys very fashionable. The so-called “Pitti People“, gain an important role : in the place inside the Fortezza da Basso it has been set up a 100 meter long Wall dedicated to them. Selected photographers/bloggers took thousands pictures to the visitors of the fair, with whom they have decorated the wall.  (see pictures on their blogs). Don’t miss it!

Wall-installationsThe stands preparations were gorgeous! We amazed looking at the original and creative decorations, an example is the writing “Pitti Woman” realized with many  small and colored plastic glasses (see picture), both external and internal arrangements were so beautiful, with a nice atmosphere where the Fashion is the protagonist. After a break with a good expresso listening to the DJ music (see picture), we moved to the Dogana and Villa Vittoria. In one of the prestigious galleries of Villa Vittoria took position “ A Magazine curated by“, a biennal magazine curated by many selected designers and stylists like Jun Takahashi and Proenza Schouler. There were totally nine iPod touch screens  that no stop were sliding the pages of each curator’s issue.

We hope you’ll forgive us, ’cause we spent some of the time making attention at visitors shoes!  Choose the ones you like best!
