This Sunday, the 28th of February, Florence will be closed for traffic, following the anti-smog example of other Italian cities. The ZTL area, the larger avenues and the area of Oltrarno will be off limits for cars, motorcycles and scooters from 9 am until 6 pm.
Many shops in the historical center will stay open from 12 am until 6 pm, hoping that florentines and tourists take the opportunity to visit the city when there will be no traffic. To reach Florence you can use the new tramvia, the local busservice or taxi – but to be in line with the ecological theme you should go in bicycle or take on a pair of comfortable shoes and walk!
We at the romanofirenze shops, will be waiting to see you too – from 12 am until 7.30 pm! The weather should be nice, so why not enjoy our lovely city this Sunday, free from smog!
